A private plane flying from the Russian capital Moscow to St. Petersburg crashed in the Tver region in western Russia on the 23rd. All 10 people on board were killed, including Yevgeny Prigozhin, founder of the Russian private military entity Wagner Organization. On the evening of August 23 local time, the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency announced that it had set up a special committee to investigate the crash that occurred in Tver Oblast that day. The Russian Aeronautical Agency stated that the type of the crashed aircraft was Embraer-135 (ЕВМ-135BJ), which belonged to the MNT-Aero company engaged in commercial transportation.
It was confirmed that the founder of the Russian private military contractor Wagner Group, Prigozhin, and one of the founders of Wagner, Commander Utkin, were on the crashed plane.
According to the list of personnel on the crashed plane released by the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency, the list includes almost all senior leaders of the Wagner Group.
