At around 12 noon local time on October 9, all flights at Hamburg Airport in Germany stopped taking off and landing because a plane from Tehran, the capital of Iran, received an attack threat.
It is reported that the plane with flight number IR723 was originally scheduled to arrive at Hamburg Airport at 11:45. The German police had earlier received an email about a possible attack on the flight.
The German Air Force stated that the alert team was activated in the morning and escorted the flight all the way through German airspace. The flight landed at around 12:20 local time and parked in a special area. Fire trucks and ambulances were on standby at any time. Subsequently, the security department conducted security checks on 198 passengers and 16 crew members, and no suspicious items were found. At 15:50 that day, flight operations at Hamburg Airport resumed, but some flights were still delayed.
