Japan’s Tokyo Electric Power Company announced that the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant’s nuclear-contaminated water marine discharge facility project has officially started. It plans to build a submarine tunnel about 1 km on the seabed near the No. 5 nuclear reactor of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant to reduce nuclear pollution. The water is pumped into the tunnel and released 12 meters below sea level.
