On August 4, the Russian government announced that it will allocate 5.7 billion rubles between 2025 and 2027 to expand electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. The subsidy will support the deployment of approximately 1,900 domestically produced DC fast-charging stations with an output power exceeding 149 kW.

The funding will cover 60% of the equipment costs for charging stations and 60% of the technical costs for grid connection. Under the subsidy mechanism, investors may receive higher subsidies if they install high-power charging stations with outputs above 149 kW.

According to the plan, Russia aims to have 28,000 DC fast-charging stations (149 kW+) operational by 2030, enabling EVs to recharge their batteries to 80% capacity in just 20–30 minutes.
