According to the Russian branch of Haval Motors, Haval’s crossover M6 will be locally produced at the “PSMA” plant in Kaluga, Russia, and the assembly of the first batch of models has begun.

Previously, Haval M6 was mainly imported from China and assembled in a small-scale factory in Tula, with limited production capacity. In order to increase production capacity, Great Wall Motors expanded the Tula Automobile Plant in March 2024, adding vehicle production lines and engine manufacturing plants. Before this expansion, the price of Haval M6 imported from China to Russia was about 2.179 million rubles (IT Home Note: Currently about 142,000 yuan). Localized production is expected to reduce the price of Haval M6 in Russia and enhance market competitiveness.

According to Avtostat data, since 2022, Chinese car sales in Russia have continued to rise, with market share surging from 9% to 57%. Great Wall Motors has a market share of about 13%, with sales increasing by 85.6% year-on-year. The market share of European, Japanese and Korean brands dropped sharply from 69% to 8.5%.
