Russia denounced Washington’s plan to supply Ukrainian forces with munitions containing depleted uranium as part of a new $1 billion aid package to Kiev, saying the decision to supply the controversial weapon was inhumane.

Following the U.S. announcement, the Russian embassy in Washington posted on Telegram that “the government’s decision to supply depleted uranium weapons is inhumane.”

“Apparently, with the idea of causing a ‘strategic failure,’ Washington is prepared to fight not only to the last Ukrainian, but to wipe out entire generations,” the embassy said.
