According to foreign media reports, data from Cox Automotive showed that in the third quarter of this year, Tesla took the top three spots on the U.S. electric vehicle best-selling list. Among them, Cybertruck ranked third on the U.S. electric vehicle best-selling list, while Tesla Model Y crossover ranked first and Tesla Model 3 sedan ranked second.

The “2024 Q3 U.S. Electric Vehicle Sales Report” released by Kelley Blue Book shows that Tesla is still the undisputed king of the U.S. electric vehicle market, with Q3 electric vehicle sales of 166,923 units. In the first nine months of this year, Tesla has sold 471,374 vehicles in the United States, accounting for 49.8% of the U.S. electric vehicle market.

Among them, Tesla Cybertruck’s sales performance in the United States is extremely impressive, with a total of 16,692 units sold in the third quarter, making it the third best-selling electric vehicle in the United States in Q3 and dominating the field of pure electric pickup trucks. In the first nine months of this year, Tesla Cybertruck has sold a total of 28,250 units in the United States.

In contrast, Ford F-150 Lightning, Rivian R1T and Chevrolet Silverado electric pickup trucks sold 7,162, 3,817 and 1,995 units in the United States in Q3, respectively. This means that Tesla Cybertruck’s sales have exceeded the total of these three major competitors.

Meanwhile, the US electric passenger car market is completely dominated by the Tesla Model Y crossover. In the third quarter of this year, Tesla Model Y sold 86,801 units in the US. In the first nine months of this year, Tesla Model Y sales in the US have reached 284,831 units, accounting for 30.1% of the US electric vehicle market.

Tesla Model 3 sedan ranked second in the US Q3 electric vehicle sales list with sales of 58,423 units, second only to Model Y. It is worth mentioning that Model 3 is only produced in Tesla’s Fremont factory in the United States and Shanghai Super Factory, while Model Y is produced in Tesla’s Fremont factory in the United States, Shanghai Super Factory, Texas Super Factory in the United States and Berlin Super Factory in Germany. In the first nine months of this year, Tesla Model 3 sold a total of 131,975 units in the United States.
