High-purity zinc layer (electroplated zinc layer) cannot form zinc flowers. The principle of producing zinc flowers is to generate a large number of crystallization nuclei as early as possible and lower the solidification temperature of the zinc liquid (the solidification temperature of pure zinc is 419°C), so as to extend the growth time of zinc flower crystals and facilitate the growth of zinc flowers. For example, add tin (<0.5%) and solidify at 198°C; add cadmium and solidify at 264°C; add lead and solidify at 317°C; add antimony (<0.3%) and solidify at 409°C; or use steam flow or SO2 gas flow. Spraying the surface of the galvanized layer can generate crystallization nuclei early and form large zinc flowers.
In fact, zinc flowers only have ornamental value and have no actual use value. On the contrary, it is not good at anti-corrosion, and the surface appears convex and concave after painting. Nowadays, people are demanding to minimize or eliminate the splatter. In order to obtain small zinc flowers, during galvanizing, when the zinc liquid is close to the solidification temperature, water droplets with a diameter of less than 0.1mm are immediately sprayed onto the surface of the galvanized sheet to form small and uniform crystal nuclei. In order to obtain smooth zinc flower, and then perform flat rolling with a reduction of less than 1%. Small zinc flowers are suitable for painting, and smooth zinc flowers are suitable for deep stamping.
