Metal toothed gasket is a solid metal gasket. Generally, a precision lathe or special milling machine is used to process the two sides of the metal flat gasket into concentric 90-degree angles to form a wavy zigzag groove. The contact is a line contact of multiple concentric circles, so it has a labyrinth sealing effect. Different metal materials can be selected according to different media and working conditions. In most cases, toothed gaskets can be used in combination with other non-metallic materials to achieve better sealing effects.
Metal toothed gasket performance characteristics:
- Low preload force, good sealing effect even in high pressure environment, especially suitable for occasions with high temperature, high pressure and alternating working conditions. It is the alternative of traditional metal spiral wound gaskets and metal coated gaskets. Ideal replacement.
- 2 Pure metal toothed gaskets are easy to damage the flange surface, so the flange sealing surface needs to be processed when replacing the gasket.
- Can be used in combination with graphite, PTFE and other non-metallic materials to achieve better results.
Toothed pad application range:
Toothed gaskets are mainly used in medium, high pressure and high temperature pressure vessels in petroleum, chemical, metallurgy, electric power, shipbuilding, machinery and other industries to seal the joints of heat exchangers, condensers and pipe flanges.
