According to the strength level, automotive steel can be divided into three categories: low carbon steel, ordinary high-strength steel and advanced high-strength steel.

Low carbon steel (mainly refers to low carbon aluminum killed steel or interstitial free steel (IF steel));

Ordinary high-strength steel (including four categories: phosphorus-added high-strength steel, high-strength IF steel, bake-hardening steel and low-alloy high-strength steel);

Advanced high-strength steel (mainly including eight categories: dual-phase steel, enhanced formability dual-phase steel, phase transformation induced plasticity steel, complex phase steel, enhanced formability complex phase steel, quenching and partitioning steel, martensitic steel, and hot-formed steel).

Among metal structural materials, the strength and plasticity of steel have a wide adjustment range, and it can be processed using a variety of processes such as casting, forging and welding. It is still widely used in the automotive field.
