On November 14, GAC Group officially signed a full-stack AI strategic cooperation agreement with Alibaba Cloud. Moving forward, the two parties will leverage their respective strengths in the automotive and AI cloud domains to jointly establish future-oriented infrastructure for the automotive industry and accelerate the implementation of AI across all scenarios in the sector.

Under the agreement, GAC Group will build an AI-driven end-to-end system—spanning R&D, production, marketing, management, and user services—by leveraging Alibaba Cloud’s advanced cloud infrastructure and the Tongyi series of large models. In the future, GAC will utilize Alibaba Cloud’s high-performance computing resources and cloud products to construct an elastic cloud architecture capable of supporting core business systems, intelligent assisted driving, smart cabins, connected vehicles, global services, and other critical areas.

Additionally, GAC Group will explore and expand the in-depth application of AI across all business segments based on the Tongyi models, including multimodal interaction in smart cabins, AI-powered sales knowledge assistants, and business intelligence decision support. These initiatives aim to significantly enhance GAC’s R&D and operational efficiency while elevating the intelligent experience for automotive users.

Currently, Alibaba’s AI capabilities have already been deployed in multiple business scenarios at GAC Group. For knowledge management, Tongyi Qianwen (Qwen) has been integrated into the internal knowledge base system to provide employees with precise, real-time Q&A support. On the marketing front, Tongyi Wanxiang accelerates intelligent content generation.

The cooperation achievements between GAC Group and Alibaba Cloud since May 2021 have been remarkable. Leveraging Alibaba Cloud’s AI capabilities and global cloud computing network, GAC Group has reduced the processing time of hundred-million-scale data from “weeks” to “days”, significantly enhancing the R&D efficiency of its intelligent driving systems. Additionally, the overseas vehicle connectivity platform achieved approximately 50% cost reduction, accelerating the company’s global expansion.
