Tokyo Electric Power Company of Japan said that the first discharge of nuclear contaminated water from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant into the sea has ended.
According to Japan’s “Sankei Shimbun” report, Japan’s Tokyo Electric Power Company will complete the first ocean discharge of approximately 7,800 tons of nuclear contaminated water from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant today.The second discharge is expected to begin as early as later this month. On August 24, despite strong opposition from the international community, Japan initiated the discharge of nuclear contaminated water from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant into the sea.Japan’s second discharge of nuclear-contaminated water into the sea may begin in late September.
