The 2023 German International Automobile and Smart Mobility Expo (IAA Mobility) (also referred to as the Munich International Motor Show) officially opened in Munich on the 5th.


The theme of this year’s expo is “Experience Connected Mobility”, focusing on sustainability and the latest mobile technologies. Leading industry representatives from the fields of micromobility, bicycles, cars, suppliers and technologies will showcase the latest automotive technologies, smart mobility solutions and sustainable mobility innovations.

According to reports, compared with 2021, the proportion of foreign exhibitors this year has increased from 33% to 50%. The proportion of Asian exhibitors also increased. Among them, the number of Chinese exhibitors has more than doubled, and it is one of the main source countries of exhibitors in this expo.

The reporter noticed on the spot that in addition to BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Renault, Hyundai and other well-known international car companies, Chinese companies such as BYD, Leap Motors, and Ningde Times also made their appearances at the expo. Many car companies, including Renault and BYD, released new cars on the spot, or held their European debuts.

The German International Automobile and Smart Mobility Expo, formerly known as the Frankfurt International Motor Show, is held every two years. It is known as the vane of the automotive industry and is one of the most influential and largest auto shows in Europe and the world. From 2021, the exhibition will officially relocate to Munich. This year’s expo will last until the 10th.
