The Foreign Ministry is working around the clock to free the hostages from Hamas.

Berlin (dpa) – Foreign Minister Annalena Berberk asked the Palestinian government to publicly condemn Hamas attacks on Israel. “Stay away from terrorism. Nothing can justify terrorism. As the Palestinian Authority, you have a responsibility, you need to be responsible to your own people.” She said before an informal meeting of EU foreign ministers on the situation between Palestine and Israel.

Berberk also stressed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is working around the clock to rescue Germans kidnapped from Israel by Hamas terrorists. The minister said she “has been communicating with colleagues in the region, with local people who can communicate directly with Hamas.” The hostages will be used by Hamas as human shields “just like local civilians.” She accused Qatar and Iran of being supporters of Hamas.
